What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?

Turn off power and water, then schedule service. A leak from the top usually means a loose cold/hot supply connection, a dripping temperature and pressure (T&P) valve, or a compromised anode port. For electric units, switch off the breaker. For gas, set the control to Off. Close the cold-water shutoff above the tank to stop the leak. Avoid opening panels while things are wet. We offer 24/7 emergency and same-day service in Boise, Meridian, and across the Treasure Valley.
